Factorio city block design.

For SE city blocks in space, having space for eight stations has worked really well for me. Only a couple of recipes (so far) have needed more than eight stations. Alternatively, you can have a block design where the stations are in a neighboring block and resources are belted to/from the assembler block.

When you make rail blueprints, you always want to start with the largest intersection and then just cut parts away from the big one to create the smaller pieces. So for a 4lane version it would be easier to start from scratch instead of upgrading this. I made a 4lane set before tho, if you want it. 3.r/factorio • So yesterday i asked how could i feed 3k water to boilers, and now rather then use pumps every 2 pipe i decided to use trains. i still have backup pumps if the power plant start asking more water but it was fun to build, and i can use this setup for longer distance now. any tips?My setup was four roboports per section, so one roboport inside the roundabout and the two in each lane. This is a fine design that I’m now using on my SE run. If you want double lane and junctions then you might want to make the blocks slightly larger. Maybe try 5 roboports per section and see if that works for you.The Roboports are connected to power sources which are outside of the build range of the adjacent City Block's existing Roboport network. This means that you can't construct the blueprint into empty space. If you stamp it down without existing Roboports, the Roboports in this blueprint will never get power and the design will not complete itself.

Speaking of size, train length that will have the best time on those rails is 6 but nothing stops you from using other lengths. 2, 3 & 12 are just behind. Everything is kept highly upgradable. There also is a set of wall blueprints to protect your rails from natives. On top of that, you can find stations for aforementioned train sizes (includes ...

It's easier to add more trains and more city blocks than it is to try to add more belts to a main bus design. I would start buy deciding on a train size (personally I am running 2L 4C trains), then decide on a city block size that those trains fit in with plenty of room for train stations going either direction (my city blocks are 10*10).An extra blueprint with the station with enough overlap with the block blueprint that it can be easily and confidently placed makes it pretty straightforward to customize blocks according to how many stations are needed. Also made a BP with two stacked stations - sometimes 4 stations in a block aren't quite enough. Book of Blocks - 100 x 100 roboport-heavy city block design. I've returned from a Factorio hiatus and have decided that my previous city-block plan of 4LP to a side is insufficient for my midgame needs. In tinkering with distances between roboports (islanded lognets, no base-wide "one bot network to rule them all) LPs ...

City blocks vary in size, but the typical city block is from 310 to 323 feet in length. This equals approximately 16 or 17 blocks per mile. Engineers typically use 100,000 square feet as an estimate for a city block, or about 2 1/4 acres.

A very simple to use set of blueprints to make a rail network using the city block design. It supports trains up to length 8 and includes blueprints of stations for trains of length 6 and length 8. The entire layout is customizable and not every section needs to be a perfect square. Grids and junctions connect seamlessly and can even be upgraded. The building space was enough for most uses, but it felt like I had to split up a few too many blocks that were slightly too big, and the ratio of tracks to factory was a bit high for my liking. 8x8 might be just enough, but I'd still say more like 10x10 or 11x11 would be better. In OP's design, a lot of space is wasted, meaning trains travel further, taking longer time, and more belts are required to transport the materials, meaning more UPS load.D - Can deadlock if a train changes path in the intersection, may resolve itself if output block becomes free. It slows down any individual train but it simplifies fuel delivery and most throughput slowdowns can be mitigated by adding another train or three. My schedules look like this: go to provider - iron plate and wait until full, go to requestor - iron plate and wait until empty, go to depot and wait idle 1 second. The main novelty here is the use of single-width rail for city blocks. Quad lane is useless once you are familiar with city blocks. The concept is that a quad lane provides more throughput. However throughout is based on intersection. Intersections are heart of city blocks. Each block's side has room for 2 trains in the station and 2 trains in each lane. I know it's a lot of chain signals, but it seemed like the best answer was clearing trains all the way into the stations or straightways since the entries/exits are so close to intersections. Each block can handle up to four platforms of either single or split cargo.
