Calaveras Big Trees State Park, situated in both Calaveras and Tuolumne Counties, is located three miles north of Arnold, California off Highway 4. The park is named after the massive giant sequoias that reach heights of up to 325 ft. and diameters of 33 ft. The park is comprised of two groves of mixed conifer forest, North Grove and South Grove.The North Grove has a ramped trail where you can walk and view these majestic trees as well as other conifer trees that have been standing for thousands of years. The park is clean and handicap friendly. There is also camping within walking distance. We camped last weekend in space 45.
