Faxon is not a good barrel company IMO. Granted it's a sample size of 2 but still both bad barrels. I like criterion as a first choice these days and my daniel defense barrels have always been accurate and long lasting. Both had for almost the same price, so I feel like I'm comparing apples to apples. Here is how I would rate the three options. WOA - best of the three options, with many reports of exceptional accuracy. Wilson Combat - less known for accuracy than WOA but Wilson Combat is known for good quality. Nov 19, 2017 · I shoot out to 500 yards but also would prefer the barrel to stay light so I can use it for other stuff. I really like the new Ballistic Advantage heavy fluted barrel, but also am looking at the Faxon Premium heavy fluted barrels. The Faxon is more $ but I imagine would last a little longer since it's nitrided.

The Faxon gunner profile is basically their pencil profile but thickened a little, this just gives it some more meat and able to handle heat a bit better. The GUNNER profile keeps a bigger heavier profile from the extension to the gas block and then a pencil profile from the gas block to the threads. I went with the 16" and it weighs in under 20oz which if memory serves me the BA Hanson 16" .625 is 22oz and the BCM enhanced lightweight .625 is 22oz. I paid just under $200 shipped for mine.
