Ranger is the worst among all other classes for solo because its survivability is terrible and you need a good healer companion. If you are on a budget then Rogue/Bard/Warlock is your choice. I would not recommend Fighter for anything as it's a rudiment class. Fighter is slow in dps when it's matter and is not so strong for solo as it looks.
