But the reason I'm drawn towards an MFA is that it's a 2 or 3-year terminal degree with more freedom than a PhD which is a 4 to 6-year time commitment. Students enrolled in the Master of Liberal Arts program in Creative Writing & Literature will develop skills in creative writing and literary analysis through literature courses and writing workshops in fiction, screenwriting, poetry, and nonfiction.
