Like you, I entered the code from the coral claw (do be sure you're looking at the coral claw: snake, wolf, moth in decending order), but when I pushed the button with the holes for the claw, nothing happened, even though the code was correct and I had the claw. It didn't fix upon reloading. Birna, however, gives the Coral Claw as part of her quest and just resurrecting her doesn't change the flag in the game that says she is dead.
