I actually like using hastas for Dragon tasks because the fact you can poison them makes it very helpful. For example if you can poison 2 dragons with the hasta and then safespot one of them, you'll slowly start killing them while you finish the other one. I'd not worry too much about "what's better" and more about what's fun to use.
