It's always been good, but what's pushed it over the edge recently is a combination of several things. In air accuracy nerf means less hand cannons and more pulse rifles. Also, the lack of Icarus grip on exotics like No Time is less relevant. Pulse rifles got a minor buff this season. I believe it was just a bit of range, but anything helps.
