I have been shocked at how awful AT&t Fiber has been. Internet is constantly going down. I had 34 outages in one day. And when it is working it is painfully slow. 4.16 mbps upload and 0.18 download. Grandparents had fiber installed (no previous fiber input into their house before this) about 3-4 years ago now by AT&T. Tech literally ran the wire along existing entrances and cords all the way to the center of the house which happened to be the living room, found a place between two studs to drag the line and did a very quick drill and install inside the house.

Well, I have AT&T fiber and haven’t used a modem in decades. If your connection is like mine the fiber terminates in an ONT with Ethernet from that running into their gateway. You need that to provide you with your Internet address. I turned off Wi-Fi in the gateway and run my ethernet to my router, and that handles all of my devices.
