Here is a full review of my Kel-Tec SU-16C. So I've put about 1000 rounds through this rifle so far, so not like, a long-term durability test but enough to get a good feel for it. The metal components of the gun, i.e. the barrel, gas system, bolt carrier, bolt, hammer, etc are all very nicely finished and have a sturdy design.

Details. The SU-16F has a conventional, long-stroke gas-piston operation and utilizes the proven Johnson/Stoner breech locking system. It is compatible with standard AR-15/M-16 magazines. Feb 22, 2015 · All of the KT rifles are chambered for both 5.56 and .223. The SU-16 F is the model made for export into Canada. The barrel is a bit longer (18.5 inches) and the receiver is marked .223 because the U.S. won't allow a rifle to be exported marked in a military caliber (5.56.)

Only thing about SU-16 was that it was a smaller, non restricted AR style platform which I liked. But the sub 2k, using the same Sig 226 mags as my 9mm, combined with the folding down to 18.5" was a win win done deal.

Dec 11, 2005 · I used two different Kel-Tec SU-16A Alpha models for this evaluation as well as a SU-16B Bravo model provided by Kel-Tec for this Test & Evaluation. The main difference between the Bravo and Alpha model is that the Bravo model has better sights and a shorter barrel.
