Straight splined roll drives instaed of tapered as well as a spring loaded reel drive chain. The biggest differences are the paint and decals as well as the age.

I bought a used John Deere 930 disc mower and I would not go back to a haybine. Any machine should show the wear and abuse it has seen. A disc mower will out cut a haybine and is easier to maintain.
