Ricard's doesn't start outdamaging the normal Rapier until about 40 Dex. You don't get the flurry attack in power stance, either. Chaos Rapier isn't really much different damage-wise from a normal Rapier with an infusion. Plus it need Twinkling TItanite. Normal Rapiers work great and have low requirements. Just use them.

For rapiers your can either just infuse a regular one with dark or go get the chaos rapier which scales decent with int/faith. There's a ton of great dark weapons in ds2 tho from spears and sickles to great hammers and great swords, plus u can infuse pretty much whatever else u want with dark and still do good damage with melee
