Previously, I had a Ryzen 7 1800x which ran perfectly fine with that cooler. I did not think that was going to be a problem as the 5800x only has a 10W higher TDP (105W) and the cooler is rated for 129W by Noctua.Due to a current AGESA bug, keep 65W CPU's EDC below 90A and all higher wattage CPU's below 140A, to prevent a bug that downclocks the CPU. 5600x. 5800x. Exclusively with this chip due to heat density you'll find very diminishing returns past 100w PPT - expect lapped heatsinks and liquid metal for high values.A cooler problem will reveal itself here with a high idle liquid temp in the 40-60C range. Most people see an idle coolant temp of 4-7C above room temp, but it does vary by case, environment, and hardware.
