Monitor setting need it activated too and ther're setting that may deactivate sync on that end e.g. special anti blurring or hdr.

I went home, installed the monitor and in the nvidia control panel it says "The Selected Display is not validated as Gsync Compatible". I did a full shutdown, updated the displayport firmare, reinstalled the latest nvidia driver and even completely unistalled and installed it again and it still shows the same message.
