I like playing small continents with naval oriented civs (England, Phoenicia, Norway, etc). The problem with archipelago type maps is the games can get really slow due to a lack of production on the map. Small continents is much better …In some maps with only small chunks of land among seas, the effective amount of cities within six tiles of range could be no more than 3 or 4. In normal maps, I reckon it would be from 6 to 8, which is a bit of a weakness considering how wide-focused Civ 6 is. But nothing impossible to overcome with that 10% bonus production, I think.
