I've noticed since patch 6.0 the aura reading of kindred has been either nerfed or broken. The large black circle that appears right after hooking a survivor overlaps killer's aura. I hope this is a bug and developers will fix it soon... (probably not) I noticed this as well. Empathy alone can give you enough info on whether or not they help a survivor as well as learning a killer's position, especially with its infinite range. Alert on its own gives away the killer's location but solely reads the killer. Kindred activates when you're hooked but reveals the survivors' auras to each other, including the killer's.I run Bond, Kindred, and Open-Handed. Can confirm that Bond + Open-Handed is kind of spectacular for properly keeping track of almost everything that's happening on the map.
