Description 3/13/18 - This is a rare WW2 production Walther PP with a 5 digit serial number. There are only about 20 known wartime PPs with 5 digit serial numbers, this one being the latest recorded serial number. The known serial number range is 98895 through 99997. There are estimated only 1k pistols made with a 5 digit serial number during WW2..

No, your pistol does not have the regular Walther markings. it says "Under License of Carl Walther" and it was made in the USA by Interarms, which previously imported German made Walthers. I have a Walther pp that has a 67 barrel date mated to a pre war slide. I emailed the factory with the serial number and they replied their records showed it was sold to a wholesaler in Frankfurt in 1967 who had a contract with the Hessen Police. The PP has the Hessen crest stamped on the frame.
