Ok i know this is a old thread but i would like to add that i would stay clear of a Honda Rincon 650/680 there transmissions are junk our local Honda dealer even recommends to buy the rubicon and says the rincons are terrible. ok i know this is just my opinion and others im not trying to flame but when you pay that much for a four wheeler and the thing grinds putting into gear and has shifting ... Check level about 10min after shutting down engine. May not be your problem but is a good start. Usually low oil will create a "slipping" effect where the engine rpm's will go up as you slow down. These older fuel injected Rincons have a fuel strainer/filter in the fuel pump. I have adjusted the cable and it reduced it a little but sill an issue. I have completely cleaned the throttle body including the MAP sensor and IACV valve and I know the IACV valve is working correctly.
